Privacy policy

TM-Tec Ltd (“TM-Tec”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for this website. This policy explains what information we collect when you use it, why, and what your rights are.
What we collect
- Contact form. If you submit the contact form, we store the name, email address, message and (if selected) the service you asked about, so we can reply to your enquiry.
- Cookie preference. A single cookie (
tm_tec_consent) records whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, so we do not ask again. See our cookie settings for full detail. - Analytics, if you accept optional cookies. We run our own first-party analytics — no third-party analytics service is used, and no data is shared with any ad network. If you accept optional cookies, two cookies (
tmtec_visitor,tmtec_session) let us count unique visitors and measure roughly how long a page is viewed. If you decline, neither cookie is set. See our cookie settings for full detail. - Server logs. Our hosting stack logs standard technical information (IP address, browser type, page requested) for security and diagnostics, in line with normal web server operation. We also use this information, in aggregate and without a cookie, to count page views and distinguish likely bot/crawler traffic from human visitors — the IP address is stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash, never in raw form.
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not share any information collected through this site with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
How we use it
Contact form submissions are used only to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss a potential engagement. Analytics data is used only to understand how the site is used (which pages are useful, roughly how long they hold attention, and how much of our traffic is automated) and is reviewed internally, including in a monthly summary email sent to a small number of authorised staff. We do not sell, rent or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Legal basis
Where UK GDPR applies, we process contact form data on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to enquiries you have initiated) and, where an engagement proceeds, in preparation for a contract. Where UK PECR applies, the optional analytics cookies are set only with your consent, given by accepting optional cookies via the banner or the cookie settings page; the server-log-based aggregate view/bot counts do not require consent because no cookie or similar technology is stored on your device for that purpose.
Retention
Contact form submissions are kept for as long as reasonably needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting engagement, and are deleted or anonymised thereafter unless we are required to keep them longer for legal reasons. Analytics events are kept for up to 14 months and then deleted; the monthly summary email itself may be retained longer as an internal business record.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to stop using it, by emailing info@tm-tec.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information submitted through this site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we do not ask for information beyond what is needed to respond to your enquiry.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
